Since you are cell phone verified, if the other member is as well there is no requirement to upload a photo (only to leave feedback)
If the other member in the negotiation is not cell phone verified (look for the blue circle/check mark) then you will both have to leave feedback and photos. If you are not able to transfer camera/scanner images to a negotiation, you can find representative photos, icons, clip art, etc online and save them on your computer- then upload that.

Go to your Account History, then click on the favor that you are wanting to add the photo to. You should have a place to leave feedback there as well as a place to browse your computer for a photo.

I think there are a lot of members who don't check their "Account History" -page for negotiations. I have run into that enough that I always send them a message also to let them know that I have offered a favor so they will go look.
As far as the credits, it shouldn't matter if the other member doesn't agree on the exact number you offer for the favor, they can counter- offer for an amount they are happy with.

It all sounds great, Stephen!
Some things off hand that I would be interested in -
*Either a pop up or other clear indicator when logging in about favor negotiations that need attention. (New favors offered, ones accepted, counter offers, what is needed to complete a transaction (leave feedback, upload photo, etc)
*Ability to search for members by user id.
*A way to manage/organize messages.
I have saved a few messages from members to remember any discussions that I may want to remember for future favors, and other messages I have just replied and not immediately deleted. If there were check boxes to 'delete selected' or even a 'delete all messages' option, it would be a big time saver when I end up with quite a few messages I need to delete.
*This is just a suggestion, but I think it would be cool to have some way to flag certain members that you would like to do favors for in the future. Possibly even have a way to keep notes somewhere for yourself to remember comments or ideas for particular members. I am not sure how difficult this would be to do though...

Gooner14- Did you upload the photo on the negotiation page and check the box to make it the main photo for the favor?
You have not left feedback for this favor yet... when you go to Account History, you will see this favor listed. Click on the favor and it will take you to the negotiation page.
Leave feedback for the transaction then make sure that you have the photo you uploaded showing on this page. Since you are not cell phone verified, both of you will have to have photos uploaded, so there should be two photos showing above the feedback- one from each of you.
Let us know if you need any help getting it all completed :)

I know I saw a comment/post somewhere that there were some issues with the favors for anysoldier. I had also posted an offer for this favor, but then found a member here who had a family member overseas and offered to them to send a care pkg.
I am not sure if you went directly through anysoldier how that will be handled as a favor here, it may depend on whatever issues they have had with that set-up.
We will have to get official word from Stephen on what is going on with that. I will let you know if I find any more information on it as well.

How to handle bogus offers...
I am wondering the best way to handle these members (some don't even list any favors) and they 'offer' to do a favor from someone's list, but request a very large number of credits... sometimes [u:222d2eb790][b:222d2eb790]all[/b:222d2eb790][/u:222d2eb790] of the other members credits.
I think in some of these situations, it is obviously best to just not respond?
I would like other opinions and experiences on this subject.

thoughts and prayers
It is hard to express in words how much my heart goes out to you and your situation! I know that if you have to go through longer treatment, you will manage- and be as strong doing it as you have been all of these years... but I am so praying for your family, and especially for that little one, that this is just some glitch in his lab work and that the point where he can run and play and be outside around friends... is really right here in sight!
I wish anything I could say or do could relieve you of some of this nightmare you are going through. I know that a mother's fear for her child and concern for their quality of life can not be eased by words or even actions. I just hope that soon you will have brighter days and this will be a memory of what you were going through- but no longer.
If there is ANYthing that you need, please let me know!

bad 1st transaction experience
I am sorry to hear about this experience. You should at least be acknowledged by the recipient. That is why we do these favors- to help someone out and you want to at a minimum have confirmation from them.
When people do not feel appreciated for taking time, spending money, etc for another person- it makes them feel taken advantage of.
Stephen is working on a system to put in place that will block a user's acct. if they do not leave feedback for the transaction and allow the 'giver' to have their credit for the favor. Right now, you can leave feedback that this person has not replied to you. There is also a place for a rating # below the feedback area.
If you are like me, you are hesitant to leave negative remarks for anyone, but this is a very important step in protecting the purpose of this site. If you can help protect others from having a negative experience, you will have helped the integrity of this site.
It will also help you with future transactions if others do the same and you can read the feedback of other members. I can not imagine why anyone would receive a gift of any kind and ignore replying to the person who could have given this gift to someone else. Someone who took time and effort to send something to you deserves at least a reply.
That is just rude... :(

If the results are for members very far from you, then you probably don't have anyone local to you wanting or offering that particular favor.

Widget Question
8) Hi! I was just wondering if anyone can tell me if the widget can in some way be included in emails... (the actual widget in the signature of emails)
I have been looking on the site, but am only finding codes for sites/blogs, etc.

Hi
When you look at the top of the page, does it have 'Your Location: ______, NJ' with your city and zip correct?
You should be getting what is closest to that location on your searches. (For example, if you are close to the border w/ PA, some PA members will be closer to you than some NJ members)
The other thing is that the favor you are looking for may not be available closer to you. To test this out, search for something quite common on the lists, say 'card' or 'clothes', etc and see if you don't get more (and closer results)

Question about search feature
I am not getting very good results with my search terms. I am just wondering if the descriptions that are entered by members are searchable.
For example, I was browsing yesterday and saw a member who was looking for something- I checked and found that I did have something she may want.
I thought it would be easier to find her list again, but I will have to browse the same areas to find it. (She had mentioned 'scrubs' under the clothes section- but I get no results searching for 'scrubs')

It is nice to have more members in your local area- I am working on spreading the word everywhere I can think of locally to get more people registered. See if you can post a note on bulletin boards at businesses, colleges, libraries, etc. You may even peak interest in your local tv stations or newspaper if you want to check into that. There are also local classifieds, etc.
It would be worth the extra effort to get more members in your local area that you can exchange favors with.

On the left hand column (favors you are requesting) scroll down to the computer section and place a check in the box by "Fix computer" and place the information in the box beside it. You could also place it under Education/Lessons (the first box- Basic computer tutoring)

Have you tried searching (box at the top center on home page) for the services you are looking for? The results will come up starting with the ones closest to you geographically.
As far as services for a fee- I think that would have to be part of a negotiation for a favor you find listed. The favors are set up to be 'paid' with favor credits.

As far as the shipping, I agree with Stephen and Eugene.
You are the one offering to do the favor.
I think if someone is looking for something in particular and wants to add in their description of the favor that they are willing to pay shipping for the item/package - that can be part of the negotiation (possibly a site like Paypal could be used to easily transfer the $- postage can not only be calculated for the size of the package, but also printed from the sender's computer)

You can look at the memberlist and it will start with the members closest to you.
Also, when you search for favors, the results start with the members closest to you as well.
There are not a lot of members in my area either. I am trying to get the word out locally (on any local forums/sites, google groups, the library, the local good will store and radio stations)
New members are joining every day, too... so keep rechecking to see if there is someone local you can help.

Would there be any way to require the birthday date and make a searchable page for requested birthday cards by a calendar or even just a listing that would be categorized by month/birthdate? There are a lot of requests for cards, but no birthdate listed :)

I don't think this would be any inconvenience to members who are wanting to participate and make this a good experience all the way around. If it helps protect everyone from being taken advantage of... or even just getting their feelings hurt when they should be feeling good about helping out, it is worth it- to me anyway :)

I agree about the rating system. If a member's rating is important to them, they will want to keep it high... but also, members need to feel like they can rate a member based on a bad transaction without the worry that they will get a retaliatory bad mark. Maybe with a scaled system and the comments, members can judge those marks themselves, too...
Would we want to go so far as to require prior transaction feedback to be left before new transaction windows can be initiated or even any participation? For considerate members in good standing it shouldn't be any problem- maybe even a good reminder system if they have had issues in life keeping them offline, etc

I know what you mean... there is a place for comments to be added, but many members are not listing the specifics. As far as clothes go, there are a LOT of people who have clothes listed, but don't say what they need. You can individually send messages to ask, but it would be really nice to have the specifics up front.
One thing you could do, is to do a search for "baby" or "toddler" and search beyond your 50 miles. That would give you a list of any favors requested or offered with those terms.

I would love to be able to filter the posts by ones that are new from my last log in. That is always a nice feature.
Also... how do I stay logged in to the site longer?? I keep having to re-log in

I was looking for this as well.
I have been trying to spread the word in my area and would love to have items, even just flyers & business type cards to post at area businesses and hand out.
I would love to see more people in my area involved!!

Hi!
I have negotiated & agreed on my 1st favor (I found a great match the first day I joined!)
I am sending the package today.
My questions/concerns are:
1) I have tried multiple times to verify my cell phone and I never receive the text messages
2) Where is the best link to get back to the negotiation page for uploading the photos, etc
I'm sure I will probably have more :)
