We're a couple of caring, creative and capable people living here on the Oregon Coast. Our special wishes are for scrap gold (broken chains, earring backs stuff that would cost too much to get fixed or that you've lost the other half to, etc) and high end samples (gwp from Clinique, etc, Sephora samples, and so on) We can and will do most anything for you and will do it well! :-)

My "Angels in disquise", that is what Wendy and John are. They are two of the sweetest people, and I am so lucky to have made friends as dear as them. Thank you for the awesome package, and may God be with you everyday. Since my camera is broke, I had to use a generic picture, but everyone should get the picture.

My goodness after a long hard day I came home to this box and was so happy my daughter was all excited we had so much fun opening this and feel so lucky and blessed to have met such wonderful sweet people it gives us hope everyday to know there is such kindness out there yet thank you for your gift and I WILL USE THIS FOR ME:)I agree its my turn for a day or two LOL;)

Angels sent from God, that is Wendy and her husband. The gifts that they sent put smiles on my children's faces that lit up the entire room. Because of their kindness and generosity, it taught my kids a valuable lesson, "No good deed goes unnoticed." Wendy knew how hard it is when life deals us lemons, she has been there too, and by the grace of God, she was brought into my families life, and her and her husband will always have a place in our hearts.

I can relate completely. The first few favors we did were for incredible, warm, delightful people who not only had the class to thank us, they just made the whole experience wonderful! I just adore them and count them as friends. We did two more favors for two other people, and I felt awkward but eventually asked if they even got the packages. One finally responded but said she couldn't figure out how to leave feedback, never heard back from her. One member had read her messages, has posted others here, asked for more favors and yet can't even say thank you? It's not just the value of what you send, it's the time, care and love you put into something, the cost of postage (quite expensive these days) and the confusion you feel when someone WILL NOT even say, "Hey, I got the package - thanks." Stephen has been through a lot trying to figure this out and that's not fair to him nor his wife. Why should they have to act like the scolding parent reminding adults who are on top of things enough to ASK for a favor but are not together enough to do the right thing once that favor is graciously given to them? I was foolish and gave feedback right after I sent my favors as until both parties got the items, there was communication on their end. I would love to remove the nice feedback I left in error for them. Then I could leave accurate feedback about the way they handled something a three year old has the good manners to deal with - simply saying thanks! Stephen, any way you can manually remove favors from our page that HAVE been done and add an admin note like, "Favor completed, favorlist member failed to leave feedback for transaction"? Maybe even an picture icon of a sad face can be uploaded and points should be transferred. Giving members should not be penalized for the failure of thoughtless members. Maybe if these things were done FOR favor recipients who failed in this way members would become motivated to do the right thing imprimis. So sorry you've been hurt this way. We agree that some changes should be made. For example, we're sitting in limbo for two favors we did a month ago. This has made us a bit hesitant about taking on new favors until this is resolved. If the member doesn't have class enough to do the right thing, there really should be some ability for closure. Maybe ideas such as Stephen's would be ideal or perhaps Stephen or a moderator could examine the situation and personally take care of it. We're willing to help in any way and certainly understand the headache this is for all. The sad thing is because a few people choose to be inconsiderate, we must plan for that. If my mother were in charge, there'd be no problem, trust me. When we were kids if we didn't do what was expected, we'd have the opportunity then to do double the chores, or whatever! So if my mom ran favorlists he'd probably set up a deal where if you fail to post feedback TWICE the points would be deducted from your account. She's loving but tough and that style makes you snap to and do what's right the first time. ;-) Jonathan and Wendy

Thanks for understanding. My message was somewhat difficult to follow because I was trying not to mention specifics too much. Still, perhaps something along the lines of an auto generated "Have you left feedback for your favor?" could be sent out say a week after the favor was sent and the giver posted feedback? It sure is awkward to have to ask personally. One would think you need not remind people as it's so incredibly RUDE for those asking for favors from others to not even acknowledge those given to them. I wonder if needing to upload a photo is a barrier to feedback left? Still, overall, what a great place, wonderful concept and a (mostly) fantastic bunch of people!! Wendy and Jonathan

I agree with Smoky. While I've been delighted by the great experience with two favorlist members - who have become friends, I am astonished my the lack of common courtesy by others. I sent two nice favors at my expense for postage and the items, put time and trouble into them. Did I ever hear back, despite my asking about it? I felt like a crabby old aunt even asking whether they had gotten the favor. Part of the favor process is at least feeling like the favor was appreciated. Another sticky thing is that I offered to do a favor for someone who has since sent me two solicitations for a cause she is involved with. Not very gracious and certainly not what one would expect. I just decided I don't care to do the favor I originally wanted to do. I am baffled too because a person here who could not respond to my query about a favor sent posted two or three times in this thread? I'm not cross because effusive thanks were not offered I just feel a simple, "Hey I got the package" is nice, especially when asked about it. I feel taken advantage of and that's NOT what favorlist is about. Thanks for letting me vent. Wendy (who is not usually cross)
