Details:We work w/a local no-kill shelter to rescue animals. We currently have 18 dogs & 16 cats in residence @ our home. The shelter operates strictly on donations, which are slim in a good economy but right now are even slimmer. We made it thru Hurricane Rita w/all animals alive. They were airlifted out in the aftermath to 4 no-kill shelters in the US. We made it w/no water, no electricity, 104 degree heat, etc, etc, etc. We were the only humans who didn't evacuate. We wouldn't leave our "kids". People were dumping their pets as they evacuated to safety. We had 400 animals & 9 humans. But thru the Grace of God, we made it. I know we can make it thru these tough times. If anyone can help, donations of food, litter, medicines, even a $5 gift card would greatly help. The name of the shelter is Puddin's Place in Lumberton, TX. The people who run the shelter are the most selfless folks I know. They have taught me so much about myself & mankind. I have been recently diagnosed w/MS & my treatment is outrageously expensive. So, even our monetary help has been diminished. But I'm still able to volunteer & we still take in Foster animals to adopt out. If you can help, it would be a very appreciated blessing for God's Creatures, the 2 & 4 legged kind!
